Festival Fit

A summer of music festivals...

Meg showing people how to have good time. At Friendly Fires, Oxegen 2011.

I didn't spank him. Seen at Odd Future's gig at Oxegen.

Dj Shadow playing at Electric Picnic, in September.

Nighttime Flash

Meg and Niamh flashing pins down a dirty alley; nothing unusual there. I saw the graffiti on the wall, around the corner from the Roisin Dubh, and made the girls stop for a photo. Compliments to the colours scheme.

Galway, summer of 2011.

A City Of Street Lights

A view of the city of San Francisco at night from the surrounding hills.

A Devout Modernist

A buddhist monk waiting for a pedestrian light, his laptop bag slung casually over his shoulder.
A meeting of two worlds

Taken in San Francisco, September 2011.

A View Of Vegas

The midday Vegas sunlight transforms the room in Trump International hotel, sitting just off the strip.

Patriotism

Americanism of the tallest order... There were crowds of servicemen there, prepping for some kind of ceremony. Was kind of a beautiful sight though.

Boston, September 2011.

Airborne

A sponsored BMX rider performs at the Sea Sessions music festival in Bundoran, Co. Donegal, in June 2011.

A Session By The Sea

The Go! Team, performing in the main tent at Sea Sessions on the Saturday night of the music festival. All I can see are man-abs..

The chocolate at the end of my cornetto

Paul Noonan of Bell X1, what a tasty man..

White Tights and Polkadots

I'm not sure if I love them or hate them... True Dublin trend-following street fashion.

Taken backstage at a gig in the Button Factory, Temple Bar, Dublin, in 2010.

Lick My Lollipop

Hello, Lolly!

Put on your Sunday clothes, there's a whole lot of world out there.

Strut down the street and have your picture took.

Beneath your bowler brim, the world's a simple song.

We're gonna find adventure in the evening air...

A photoshoot for Flashback magazine, DCU publication.

Model is Meg Williams, official sexypants.

Original Drinker

My friend James making the most of his crutch...

Taken at a Mr Scruff gig in the college bar in NUI Galway.

Ghost Properties of Ireland ... continued

Homeless Houses.

An empty carpark reflects the empty apartments beside it. Despite being completed for nearly a year, in Santry, Dublin, the building remains pretty much unoccupied and was recently taken into receivership.

A lone resident goes to entrance of an apartment building, recently taken into receivership, in Santry in Dublin. The lights in the hallway pronounce the fact that there is no sign of life in the apartments themselves.

A deserted street of empty apartments... Newly finished but no takers despite the light price tag.

Ghost Properties of Ireland

Abandoned building sites... Just some of the unfinished construction work that has been left to rust around the country since Ireland was hit with the recession. These photos show planned apartments in Santry, Dublin 9, which couldn't be completed due to bankruptcy and had to be taken into receivership. They have been sitting as they were left for almost two years, with no plans for completion.

The End of the Beginning

Cheesy but it has to be done! Communications students celebrate graduating with a bachelors degree outside the Helix in Dublin City University.

The Graduates

My sister Heather jokes about with her army officer classmate just after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering, with her getting first class honors. Bloody genius. Their expressions are really in the moment and I love her confident stride. The NUI Galway campus is such a gorgeous backdrop...

Stationary Dancers

Behind the scenes of a performance by Dublin City Universities dance society in the Helix venue. They're preparing to dance in the All-Ireland Dance Experiment competition, to a modern take on Alice in Wonderland. Hence the white rabbit's pocket watches in the center image.

The Naked Musician

Rockin out with his cock out. Havta give him credit for his nice arse though

Taken in the Button Factory, Temple Bar, Dublin, in 2009.

Stage Lights

Colour distortion by graphics and stage lights.

Note the giant mouse head in the middle picture, like a Supermacs bunny. Terrifying.

Taken at the Button Factory, Temple Bar, Dublin, in 2009.

A View From Backstage

A friend of the band watching from backstage. I love her tattoo.

Smoking laws don't apply to pimps...

A tough look to pull off, but I think he does it.

All photos were taken at the Button Factory, Temple Bar, Dublin, in 2009. And no, I can't remember who was playing.

Morocco; day to day life

Taken on a beach in Agadir. The camels were brought around strictly as a novelty for tourists, you could pay for a ride on one but you would need to be able to bear the smell... He hassled me for a while to have a go but I decided not to, mainly because he was so annoying

Waiting for the school bus by the side of the road...  The school uniforms seemed to consist of a simple white tunic worn over regular clothes, no bottle green or ugly school crests in sight.

The above photo was a drive by shot, taken on the road to Essaouira. The contrast between the old man and his donkey and the shiny modern car in the background just highlights the changes taking place throughout Morrocco. Western countries are so quick to change, but countries like these have the pride to hold onto their traditions.
The men in the background sitting in the shade of the tree was another common sight, as unemployment is everywhere so the males have nothing to do all day but sit by the side of the road.
